Should I Switch to UEFI Before Install?
#1
As I prepare for my 5.8 install - should I switch the boot to UEFI before proceeding?

My current Mint 20.2 install is not booting UEFI.

Thanks

Thanks. I read that, but it didn't sink in.

I have my setup where the Linux bootloader is on the mbr boot sector, and the Windows bootloader uses UEFI. So that way enabling or disabling UEFI acts as a sort of boot menu. Mbr for Linux, which is the default, and if I press F12 on bootup, I can select my Windows UEFI. It works great for me. There might be a way to make Linux use the UEFI boot process too if you want to do that.

This is going to be a Linux Lite only machine - no dual boot.

I have my USB ready to go. I'll probably get started next week.
