Update Error - could not get lock

The 'could not get lock' message is usually triggered when an update process is already active when a second update process is initiated, for example starting a manual check when an automated background check is already running.

Before manually running updates you need to ensure that no package management system is running, or if an automated background check is running, you just need to wait a while.
