Stop suspend on laptop lid close from startup
#11
I've done it! Only took me around 30 minutes to strip the machine down and then rebuild it minus the plastic button and actuator. Now works flawlessly without having to open the lid from the tablet mode.

Downloaded and installed the brightness controller 2.0 and that also works great, clipped it to the XFCE panel and even has sliders to control the colour temperature.

Yes GreatScott! has some very interesting projects, I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that yet but you never know  Smile

Well it looks like I'm all set with the machine so thank you so much for all your help bitsnpcs. A few photos on my Google Photos album here:

Hello Peter,

excellent and efficient work on tweaking your laptop to make the custom Linux machine you want Smile , and great photos, thank you for taking them I enjoyed seeing them a lot  Smile
Did the switch have a plug or was it SMC ?

When you mentioned about the brightness and sliders, I recalled Jerry's post about this subject.

I have been watching this video (many times) by GreatScott! , for a while now and have it in the bookmarks, it does look a bit daunting. I also like his led cube video a lot.

I should've annotated the pictures! Yes the micro switch is soldered to the board, the close-up picture of the circuit board has the switch in the middle. Glad you liked the pictures Smile
