Shutdown kinda slow
#1
Hi all, I recently reinstalled LL 1.0.6 on my netbook. Now for some reason the shutdown seems a bit slower even though I'm using an SSD drive. I read that you can use the terminal to shut down almost instanly using:  sudo poweroff -f  This is a forced shutdown but I want to know is this safe to use over time?
Also is it possible to make this a script and add it to the menu where it says logoff? I would love to just have a shutdown button there Smile

Thanks.

What I'm trying to say is, I would like to put a button that has the poweroff -f command in my start menu, right where it says turn off computer, without having to use my password.

Not sure if it can be done in LL 1.0.6, but have you tried adding a launcher to the panel & editing it's properties so the shutdown command is run when it's clicked?
