Start up and Shut down screen changed
#1
I just received an update yesterday that changed the boot up and shut down screens from the normal LinuxLite 2.4 to Ubuntu 14.04, I am confused as to how to correct it. It doesn't seem to affect the performance but with my lack of knowledge of linux it can be frustrating knowing that a simple update can change baseline systems.
Any suggestions as to how to correct this issue would be appreciated, also I did want to mention that the update that caused this issue did ask me if I wanted to keep something or other and it pointed in the direction of the /etc/ folder, I cant remember the rest of the file path. ???
Thanks for your time

Try this:

Menu->System->Lite Tweaks and select the Bootup Fix option.

I don't believe anything I've installed has anything to do with the start screen and shut down screen being changed, I would like to mention that this is the 3rd time I am working with Linux Lite on my experimental system and this is the third time this has happened. This issue seems to stem from the Ubuntu core update that comes in from time to time and my knowledge with linux is limited so far and I really don't know how to avert this from happening

Did the Bootup Fix in the Lite Tweaks app not work?

You have a lot more extra stuff than I do in your repos. Probably self induced breakage from unknown untrusted (my opinion) ppas in your /etc/apt/sources.list.

Just saying this because I disagree with

Quote:I don't believe anything I've installed has anything to do with the start screen and shut down screen being changed,

Not harping here. Because, not my machine so I do not care. It's your show.  Just stating to be what I consider a fact. I can't say which ppa is the culprit. You have so many extras. (14 compared to my 6 in Active sources list enabled)
