I don't know how to get you more choices of resolution, but you may want to consider changing the DPI setting and Desktop icon size. DPI setting can be found at Menu>Settings>Appearance at the bottom...

I have no experience with UEFI or NVRAM but after a little searching it appears that "efibootmgr" is capable of changing boot options.  See the following. http://linux.die.net/man/8/efibootmgr

I suspect this is related to an issue with bleachbit, an interrupted wipe of free space on the HDD can leave very large folders that are troublesome to read or delete. See the following. http://askub...
