Known issue re. Chrome icon remove - https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=2038566#p2038566 workaround at the bottom of Post #3.

Multiple fixes:

Right-click on panel : Panel -->Panel Preferences... -->tab Items --> select launcher --> click Remove

You also have Lite Tweaks, Taskbar Restore (ignore any errors).

Logging out also restores the Taskbar. Right click on the Desktop, Applications, Log Out, Log Out.

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for this.

Maybe this is because of my UI habits: I always do cleanup "unused" icons and other stuffs first, I really like how I can personalize the UI in Linux Lite....therefore only my Home folder and File system icon stays next to the main Panel1, and also removing the icons from Panel1...at last the Chrome and all of a sudden BOOM...Panel1 also goes therefore I was not able to reach any application like Tweaks or Whisker menu to revert somehow....BUT as a best practice, I can still run "lite-tweaks" from terminal and I can revert the whole stuff as you mentioned.

Cheers

Personally I don't use Windows 11 unless it's public or shared computer because of Windows 11 has buggy

Hi Jerry,

Using LL since years now. I always waiting for the final releases but I cannot wait to install and test R6 RC1.

I don't know if this is because I installed this one on VBox (I don't think so), but Panel1 just gets completely deleted when I "Remove" Chrome icon from Panel1 by right-click/Remove.

...hopefully this will be fixed :D ...but with this "little" problem, R6 RC1 is running like a charm.

Regards
rlatyuka

Tested and confirmed, thank you for notifying me of this :)

Hi All.  If an external mouse is connected and the  LT is closed with suspend power option selected, when the lid is opened the LT touch pad fails to come back and requires a log out and log in.

Also there seems to be a bit of a delay on reestablishing wifi when configured to auto connect.

Hi All.  I have noticed that a reboot does not retain all apps within my session.  In my case the Opera and Chrome browsers are closed.

Also geany editor.

Works OK for Thunar and xfce Terminal windows.

I, too, wouldn't dream of using Google Chrome. But to get the browser I want I'd rather use a PPA than a snap, for sure.

If you're referring to Firefox, you can download the tarball from Mozilla's website, extract, move the resulting folder to /opt, and integrate/made it available in LL's menu.
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us :)

I installed it on a Virtual Box for testing, it looks great.  Response time is great.

My only wish is for a way to setup Themes easily so I could setup a Mac-Like interface.

Sorry in advance for possibly unnecessary noise but as you can see I am new here but not new to linux.

@OzarkJoe
I remind those that typically ask "how to fix" that this is an RC aka test version, the fix likely will be made to the Final, which will be a new full install of LL6.0 once released.
Just should someone be waiting for a support response.

In my case I am willing to look into why pulseaudio is hanging and if I can fix it in my copy of RC1 then my continued testing may go smoother and be more realistic than hard powering off my LT.

For instance if someone here is more knowledgeable they could suggest comparing the systemd settings of pulseaudio with another service of similar rank, or installing a different version of pulseaudio.

Again apologies if this is unnecessary noise.

@OzarkJoe
Yes please report all findings as mentioned, in this thread so that the DEVs have 1 place to to review..

As this is a RC release, there are bound to be bugs etc. Please help make the final stable for other people by participating in this RC. Please report any bugs and feedback in this thread.

As this version of LL(6.0) is a Release Candidate (RC) this may not be corrected until the Final release. Please know as an RC there is not an upgrade path to the Final version.
@firenice03

Should we not report issues associated with Linux Lite version 6.0 RC1? If so... what thread?
