Hi All,  Thank you for this distro I like it very much. My hardware is an Ideapad Gaming 3 laptop https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=ab553d3a2f and I am trying to get the keyboard back light to work.

In the process I have a problem when rebooting.  The pulseaudio process hangs when shutting down.  If I wait a long enough it gets blacklisted but I still have to hold down the power button to force a power down.

Is there any thing I can do to fix this ?

Best regards oz.

I, too, wouldn't dream of using Google Chrome. But to get the browser I want I'd rather use a PPA than a snap, for sure.

As this is an RC release, the 'BUG' you experienced may not be corrected until the Final Release...

Including system specs along with the found bug is beneficial to ensuring it is corrected.

Thanks. I didn't consider it a bug. Probably a hardware issue.

@Jerry I'll be installing in Virtual Box and see if I can dig up some hardware

@Giyom
Have you tried LL5.8 by chance and will it boot correctly with the 32bit UEFI?
I have a tablet that I have only messed with in the slight and sometimes the 32bit grub (if I recall) might need installed...

Just a friendly reminder... This is a TEST - Release Candidate
There is no upgrade to or from RC releases. RC releases are for testing only and it is not recommended to run them as your main or secondary operating system.

See the previous series RC for testing suggestions...

Not a big deal because the 6.0 install seems to be working fine, but I get this graphics "hiccup" just before the desktop loads. I didn't have this issue with 5.8.

I assume this is due to a graphics driver issue from x.org. If anyone here has a suggestion on a fix I appreciate your input.

See my hardware stats in my bio.

Hi , first of all thanks you for your amazing work it's my first linux from windows and i love it !  :57:

I noticed some problem, the iso on my usb won't boot because there is no bootia32.efi so i added it my self . (I have a strange laptot with a 64bit cpu but a 32bit UEFI  :037: the asus stransformer book T200TA)
The installation was okay no problem there , but once i'm asked to reboot and then remove the usb stick my linux it will not boot and go back to uefi screen  :banghead

Is there anything that i can do to make it boot ?
I have similar issues. I have to choose CSM boot instead of UEFI. I wish it worked in UEFI mode.

@Jerry ,

This was quick.  I didn't expect a Linux Lite release candidate so soon after the release of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.  I'm looking forward to getting off LL 4.8 for this Thinkpad.  I'm also hoping whatever was in Ubuntu 18.04 or Xfce during that time that wouldn't work with my Dell docking station will work now.  I had to go a different route from Linux Lite for Dell Latitude.  Ready to bring it back.

Jerry,

will Firefox still be an installable package from Lite Software?

I understand your decision about selecting Chrome but I prefer not to use it.  Not that I'm any fan of Snaps and other solutions of that ilk either...

Thanks,
Andy.

Yes that's correct. FF will be in Lite Software in the final. There will be a warning beside it saying 'Snap Package'.

At a guess, the bootia32.efi you put on your USB drive didn't get copied to the EFI System Partition (aka ESP) on your boot drive.  You should be able to mount that partition in the live system (booted from USB) and copy that file from the USB ESP to the boot drive ESP, unmount the boot drive ESP, shut down the live system and remove the USB then boot the machine.

Everything is progressing smoothly. I'm at about 85-90% through on the install. No hiccups. It does seem to be a bit slower than the 5.8 install.
