- When you use the brightness keys, a bell is showed, instead of the usual sun.

I get the Sun here on my HP ZBook 15

Not sure if it is a bug or just normal. In 4.8 when i hovered cursor over the battery tray icon it showed battery percentage. Now in 5.0 it doesnt, i need to right click to see at what percentage battery is.

Use the 'Power Manager Plugin' add-on from the Panel, that works just fine here for hovering and is more configurable.

Is it possible to have the battery percentage below firewall in the widget?

I'll consider adding that in the future, no promises though. It's easy to just add more and more to that Widget but there needs to be a limit.

Life on earth is expensive but it does include a free trip around the sun.

EDIT: Regarding printer setup, I since saw the possibly related post 51759 in Printing and Scanning forum section,so will read further there.

Thank you, Linux Lite maintainers. From what I've seen so far, this is an excellent operating system, very well suited to your target audience of those most used to MS-Windows, but equally good for others. Great job.
I've installed Linux Lite 5.0 to a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF desktop (i5-4570) and to an HP ENVY m6 laptop (i7-3632QM). I had previously installed Linux Lite 4.8 to the Optiplex. Though I haven't yet tested extensively with version 5.0, it so far looks very good to use; however, a couple of things I noticed in Jacob Pertou's earlier post, and also saw myself, made me decide it is worthwhile to comment now, before I can have a deeper look in a few days time.

[...]
Things I noticed
- I simply couldn't get my HP3630 printer to work. Not a dealbreaker, I'll just print in Windows 10.
- When you use the brightness keys, a bell is showed, instead of the usual sun.

- I simply couldn't get my HP3630 printer to work. Not a dealbreaker, I'll just print in Windows 10. Shouldn't be difficult, full support has been around for some time for that model.
- When you use the brightness keys, a bell is showed, instead of the usual sun. I'll have to check that on my HP laptop.
[...]

Printer setup: I also didn't get this working yet from either machine in v5.0, though setup worked without hitch using the Configure Printer tool in v4.8. It finds (twice) the network printer (a Canon MB5160) but when trying to connect as "IPP network printer via DNS-SD" I got "CUPS server error There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'server-error-internal-error.'"
Brightness scale: I also get the bell rather than the sun.

Cheers.

A few years ago, 3000 visitors to the site in one day was considered huge and only happened around release time. In the last 24 hours, over 17,000 people have visited the Forums. That blows me away!

Thanks @Jacob Pertou and thank you to everyone for posting some excellent feedback in this thread. I read every post and take note of what you say, even if I don't acknowledge you individually, so thank you all :)

Thanks for your feedback.

I apologize for being a noob, and for writing before reading the original post! Of course, everything you say make sense, and that's why I really like Linux Lite. I got the printer working. Apparently, it was a firmware issue.

Is it possible to upgrade from 4.x or does it have to be a clean install?

As stated in the release announcement post
Quote
There is no upgrade path to or from RC releases.
There is no upgrade path from Series 2, 3 or 4 ( 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 | 3.0, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8 | 4.0, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, 4. 8 ) to Series 5.

So, no, it's not possible and yes, it has to be a full clean install.
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us :)

My original post (above )was made before rebooting the laptop  LAN connection.

On rebooting - logging on password ( upper and low cases) worked as expected.   However unable to Verify action such as Lite tweaks or install zoom.deb or access add/delete software
BUT was able to set up wifi passwords to two separate routers

 Keyboard language English (UK) throughout,
Keyboard settings
Number lock reset on restart unticked
Keyboard model Fujitsu Amilo laptop  - These settings usually work fine on this Fuji lasptop  As with LL4.6
Keyboard layout English UK

Not sure what is going on  Any ideas welcomed.
PS.  On installing I had used the keyboard identification routine - yes/no to various symbols
Jerry PLEASE DELETE THIS. Now on Installation section. Sorry and thanks.

Rufus, Yumi, Multiboot and other multi-boot applications are not supported.
Sorry, it seems to me that Rufus is incorrectly being described as a multi-boot application - I can find nothing on the Rufus home page that indicates it is other than an ISO to USB flashing utility.

I don't think it is. I think the post is referring to some other tools that do allow the creation of multiboot  USBs and Rufus is just mentioned as not supported.
