Hi Jerry - I cannot find the "Lite Control Centre"??  Has it been deprecated from 3.0?  Just wondering.  Thank you for a great release.

Jerry didn't keep that in v3.0.  Please read this entire thread.  Jerry has stated quite a few times that he didn't want to discuss it any more.

At the moment I'm looking for a way to integrate clearer icons against dark backgrounds like the tray:

I'll let folks know when this is ready.

There is also an updated package for SystemD Manager.

I've noticed some theme differences too, I think it's something to do with the differences between Gtk2+ & Gtk3+.
The bottom 2 paragraphs of the 1st reply on that page I think eludes to why some themes work correctly and others don't.
For me Synaptic didn't change themes until after a reboot, VLC didn't until I set Force Window Style to Gtk+.
One I've found that won't change is Unetbootin, it does with the default themes but not with the older themes I  like using.
Those 3 changed soon as applied in 2.8.
Some of the older themes don't even show up in Appearance now, I'm guessing that's because they have no Gtk3+ elements/folder included.

Testing 3.0 on DVD to see if I want to up grade yet. My favorite theme, BleuFear, does not change Synaptic. Not sure about any other app. Tried DeLorean, and a few other dark themes and they also did not change Synaptic. Don't really like the blue gray of Arc-Dark. I prefer the flat gray of BleuFear. Anybody know why BleuFear not working everywhere?

Just noticed a wee glitch. .deb files want to open with Archive Manager. Menu, (type in  'Mime') Mime type editor, then type in deb in the filter box, and select Gdebi from the dropdown box. Will be fixed in 3.2

No problems here. Just finished installing 3.0 64bit.
Bluetooth keyboard works.

So far I installed and checked the following applications:
- Geany,
- Lazarus IDE,
- Eclipse,
- Sqliteman,
- MineCraft,
- Steam,
- Palemoon browser (I don't like Firefox, has google crap installed),
- OpenShot,
- Lighttpd,
- PHP5 (with GD, Sqlite3 and cli),
- Wine.

No problems so far, just like 2.8, it simply works.

Like the default theme!

Thanks SmartDuck :)

Hey Jerry, I don't see Linux Lite Control Center. Is there a way to install it from a repo?
Thanks!
Len

Apparently, you need to install Lite Upgrade Series 2

Why would I do that when I am asking a question about 3.0?  :)

I found a problem in the Linux Lite 32-Bit. Well, it's a very minor Problem but better know as it may confuse unexperienced users.

It does not Say Linux Lite but says just Linux.

Lite Control Center is not in Series 3 at this stage. If anyone else asks about it, please refer them to this post. If anything changes, I will inform the community.

When will it be back?

Think I might have found a minor bug with the Desktop's right click > Application menu entry.
I have an application menu on the Panel, if I go into it's properties & edit anything in that menu, move something up or down etc., close the properties, then on the Desktop right click > Applications, instead of the menu appearing just a small rectangle appears.
Fix it by going Right-click > Desktop Settings > Menus then uncheck & recheck the 'Include applications menu on desktop right click' button, once that's done it works as it should.

Using Transmission I found it impossible to get it's port check to pass & show open until I changed the IPV4 settings in the Network Connections.
Edited the connection settings and changed it from Automatic (DHCP) to Manual, entered the relevant info, saved and all is well.
It's a wired Ethernet connection on a TP-LINK TD-8840T ADSL2+ Modem Router.

Migrating settings/profiles manually from 2.8 works well by simply replacing the files in the relevant folders on 3.0 with the ones from 2.8.
Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC & Transmission all ok with the only issue found being the Transmission connection glitch and that was unrelated as I tried a clean/fresh Transmission install before editing the network connection.

Desktop icons, I never tried this on the LL 3.0 beta, but noticed on LL 3.0 Final I'm seeing the icons jump left issue again.
This time I don't believe it's a bug, it appears to be just how XFCE works.
It's only with removable volume icons for external devices, and only when they're powered down when shutting down the system completely or restarting.
Internal removable volume icons and any other icons on the Desktop stay where they're put on a shutdown/restart.
On a logout/login they stay where they're supposed to, mounted or unmounted, powered on or powered off.
Shutdown or restart if they're powered off before shutting down they go back to the top left when they're mounted again next time LL 3.0 starts.
If they're mounted or unmounted but still powered on when shutting down they retain their positions ok.
sudo chattr +i ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/icons* keeps them in place after a shutdown regardless of mounted/unmounted, powered on/powered off status.

Just thinking out loud here below so might be incorrect info....
I was hoping I wouldn't have to keep doing that chattr command but I guess there's probably not much that can be done about it for now.
XFCE is probably doing correctly exactly what it's supposed to when shutting down & saving the Desktop state.
As the powered down external drive's icons aren't showing at that time they're not getting saved in the config file.
If they're still mounted or powered on the icons are still visible and they do get saved, which I guess would be why I see them holding their positions at those times.
I guess it must do things differently with regards to saving Desktop state on a logout vs a shutdown.
Or maybe it's the greeter & not XFCE at all....makes one's head hurt all this stuff  :-\    ;D
