Congratulations on hitting the 100,000 downloads  8)

One way of getting programmers would be creating them via some type of a mentoring program.
Where once specific stages of learning have been reached they then worked on small aspects/targeted areas, or in groups on parts of projects. Once completed they then learn some more.
I realize though this would then use up time of the existing programmers, and so is probably not a very realistic idea.

Hi Valtam & Team,

Amazing & well done... 200,000 here we come...
I've been a Windows user since 2.1 and LL just works for me.

I have LL2 on 1 PC and 2 Laptops.
I do still have Windows on 1 last PC, I use that for work,
If I could get an email and drawing solution that works,
I could then drop Windows on that.

Thanks again for LL, it is a great distro.

Thank you for the feedback michel, it is certainly appreciated. If we had a bigger team and more spare time then we would be able to cover all the things you mentioned. For what we have at the moment, we have to dedicate and spare time to smaller more manageable projects like the Lite collection of software we offer. If you know any programmers, send them our way :)

Hello!

Yes, it would appear that Ubiquity, the Ubuntu installer, is also used by almost every Ubuntu-based distro, including Linux Lite. As for the location feature, it is mainly used for time zone purposes, so any other city that DOES appear in the same time zone should suffice.

The keyboard layout is on another screen in Ubiquity. It should support a French one, although one guy on here has said that setting it up in French gave him issues...

First off..Let me say Kudos to all the dedicated people who made this distro come alive...they deserve it. As a long time Linux user (and distro hopper) I really think Linux Lite is the way a Linux distro should be...Easy and efficient...
This being said, my first impressions of ver.2.0 are somewhat mixed. Mind you, not enough to stray (I still keep a Slackopup around for fun in root).
My first peeve came with the installer. It couldn't find my location (which is Montreal, QC, Canada).
And when I tried to enter it manually, it started looping. I know too well this is a Ubuntu bug. Having experienced it before. Still, If you use someone else's installer...it should be checked..even reworked.
Second came the sound. Truthfully, this has been an ongoing problem (Mint reported something similar) where it goes to mute by default. Now it seems unresponsive and only comes on after clicking back and forth. Again this could be U's fault. Still, it's a software wedgie...Ouch..!
Last but not least is the loss of my beloved Synapse. I know this is not of the teams doing, but if there ever was a tool to trump MS and sway in new users in search of ease of use and productivity...Synapse would rank way up there.
Concluding, I would like to point out that these are in no way deal breakers. However, I strongly believe that they can turn away some prospective users, especially the sound glitch (nobody cares about finding Montreal on a map except Montrealers..(lol).
Respectfully yours,
Michel

Don't do dist-upgrade on LL. This has been discussed many times, even if it has worked for you, we warn against it.

Noted. I will refrain from showing that again. I will edit my post also.

RE :sudo apt-get install unattended-upgrades && sudo dpkg-reconfigure unattended-upgrades

Are there any issues around doing this ?

Thanks

Kurt
