If you're concerned about software that's on your computer that you will never use, then I'm afraid that it doesn't end there. For example, the Kernel contains lots of features and drivers that you will never use. The simple answer is, when one builds an operating system, one builds it to work on as many computers as possible, it is not tailor made for one device. This is how freedom spreads, by having wide ranging compatibility. FYI, we are not a fork of Ubuntu, we start off we with a 35mb image, and painstakingly build it one package at a time. Cheers

I think I already fixed it, it's that I don't have a partition because it uses a swapfile daaa sorry I'm stupid in linux but I already increased it to 6gb thanks san youtube

creo que ya lo arregle es que no tengo particion porque usa un swapfile daaa perdon soy tonto en linux per ya lo incremente a 6gb gracias san youtube

Tutorials / I don't have swap partition? [SOLVED]

hi pals, I have been using a virtualized linux lite in proxmox for a few months and it's going well... well, I only have 12gb of ram, I have other virtual machines so I only get 3gb of ram for linux lite but it's going well... I think increase it in a short time.

Well I write because I have installed my thunderbird in linux lite and I have seen that the ram memory has increased as it is obvious and just out of curiosity I opened gparted and I have realized that I do not have swap partition



However, in the system monitor it shows that I have 900mb for swap... I am not an expert in linux but I guess that the swap is good or at least that is what I have always read and in fact I wanted to increase it from 900mb to at least 6gb because I have read that it is good a swap twice the ram.

But now that I see the gparted and I see that there is no swap partition, I don't know what to do or how to increase it...

please can you help me

hola amigos tengo usando mi linux lite virtualizado en proxmox hace unos meses y me va bien... bue solo tengo 12gb de ram que tengo otras maquinas virtuales asi que solo le tengo 3gb de ram al linux lite pero me va bien... pienso incrementarla en poco tiempo.

bueno escribo porque he instalado mi thunderbird en el linux lite y he visto que la memoria ram a incrememtado como es ovbio y solo por curiosidad abri el gparted y me he dado cuenta de que no tengo particion swap



sin embargo en sistem monitor sale que tengo 900mb... yo no soy experto en linux pero creo que la swap es buena o al menos eso es lo que siempre he leido y de hecho queria incrementarla de 900 a 6gb porque he leido que es bueno una swap el doble de la ram.

pero ahora que veo el gparted y veo que no hay paticion swap no se que hacer ni como incrementarla...

por favir ueden ayudarme
