One of my top two distros - elija - 09-18-2014
I'm a long term Linux user who has never settled on one distro for very long. I have poor attention span I guess! Although Linux in some flavour has been my only OS at home for over a decade my journey has been so smooth that I haven't really become an expert in it, except in areas where I have needed to learn my way around. Despite this I do moderate on a couple of other Linux forums.
For the past few months, I have been installing Fedora with Xfce which I love, using it for a while and then replacing it with Linux Lite which I also love and so on. Currently back on Linux Lite.
I love Fedora as it is so bleeding edge (it has just got the 3.16 kernel for example) and is pretty quick. I love Linux Lite because it is based on an LTS version so should be supported for a while and is blindingly fast which is all the more remarkable as it includes full fat software like Libre Office. Yes I am aware they are conflicting things. Welcome to my mind!
I had what I thought was a good suggestion to improve the software installer (check boxes instead of radio buttons for multiple selections) but found it had already been done after an update; so it seems the distro is in a constant state of incremental improvement which is a good sign especially after the recent news about Bodhi. I have been heard saying that Linux Lite is what Xubuntu should be, but isn't quite.

Welcome to Linux Lite. The finely tuned race car of linux distros.
No other OS that I've tried has run as smoothly (both speed and problem-free) as my previous XP installation on my old Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop - Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM, 30GB HDD, 16MB ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 graphics.
I had reduced the XP Installation Disk to one third (3xxMB) of it's size using nLite. I then performed tweaks (for speed and stability) to the system and finally tweaked individual programs.
Linux Lite runs just as well (maybe a fraction slower in some areas) straight out of the box. The Live CD also worked on a couple of work PC's that had problems with other distros in the past. And everything is still running smoothly after 6 months and an upgrade to LL 2.0.
And as you say, it is constantly being improved including new sections to the Help Manual.
When I finally upgrade my PC I will be installing Linux Lite as my main OS. The work the Linux Lite team have done "under the hood" to make it run so smoothly on older hardware is amazing. And the more modern hardware will enable me to run Steam and XBMC, things I cannot do at present.

@AL13N: Thanks for the welcome. LL2.0 really flies on my 8 Core Toshiba Satellite, even on my I5 desktop it is running nearly as fast a crunchbang did and that is using a very old 160GB disk for my system. The next upgrade planned is to replace that with an SSD.

Welcome to Linux Lite. It seems to have become a new favorite for many.
These days, when I'm converting an old XP machine to Linux, LL is all I use because it seems to just plain 'work better' than the other easy-to-use Linux OSs out there...
