ALL Lyric websites also have the incorrect lyrics, Google also has the incorrect lyrics. Last year I typed the correct lyrics out for this and was going to post it on YouTube but decided I didn't want a copyright strike for the music so didn't. In the last verse particularly it disappointed me that people wrote the lyrics as -"Oh where in my country", instead of "Oh Éireann my country" So I present here for you the only correct lyrics text for the song online - In the fair bay of Dublin, while carelessly strolling I sat myself down near a clear crystal stream Reclined on the beach, in wild accents deploring In sorrow condoling, I heard a fair maid Her hopes changed to mourning, that once were so glorious I stood in amazement to hear her sad tale Her heart strings were torn in wild accents so glorious Saying, "Where is my Blackbird of Sweet Avondale?".
