Can't install v5.2 - HemanthJabalpuri - 11-01-2020

I am using Ventoy to install it.
I can't use other writers because of I only have one USB and don't have rescue one.

I didn't install Linux Lite before.
I have disabled secure boot, enabled UEFI.
Grub is not installing. Screenshot is available at https://i.imgur.com/uqc4PhO.jpg

Thanks

Re: Can't install v5.2 - HemanthJabalpuri - 11-01-2020

It looks like I have the same issue as others mentioned in
https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-linux-lite/bootloader-fatal-error-grub-not-working/

https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-linux-lite/grub-error-cant-boot-windows/

But, I am installing it to the whole hard disk.
Other ubuntu based distro like Mint works fine when installing.

If someone help where to find logs when installer crashes, then I will post it here.

Thanks

I don't know what Ventoy is. You should use what we recommend on the Download page so as to minimize risk.

Thanks for the reply.

Sir, I will try but it seems like others also having the same issue without using Ventoy.

Live Environment is working fine but grub installation fails!

Where can I find logs when installer crashes? So that I can post it here.

Thanks

Edit:- Linux Lite is also in Ventoy support list

Where are you installing grub to? Are you dual booting? Please list your partition set up during install (clear photo is acceptable).

I am not installing grub manually. Installation fails when installing at grub installation (attached picture in 1st post).
I am installing Linux Lite to whole hard disk.

Where can I find logs when installer crashes?

Thanks

I can't help you if you don't provide answers to what I have asked for. No need for logs.

Sorry if I overlooked something.
I am trying to install to the whole hard disk, so I didn't touched any partitions. Erase disk and install option. It means no dual booting.
Installation fails at last when installing grub, picture is at https://i.imgur.com/uqc4PhO.jpg

Thanks

I can't be any clearer my friend. Here are my instructions one more time:

Where are you installing grub to? Please list your partition set up during install (clear photo is acceptable).
So, I need a picture of the partitioning section once you have set your options.

eg.

This is the picture I need.

Another question, are you connected to the internet during installation?

I 2nd [member=2]Jerry[/member] - A screenshot/pic of your partition info would help.

I assume you using a 64bit UEFI supported system (5.x is UEFI/64bit only) 4.x can use BIOS or UEFI 64bit...
Being connected to the internet (WiFi or hardwire) is preferred (I've had similar if not).

You may need to a "Something Else" to ensure disks are created according (perhaps missing a /boot)??? Its a thought....
