If you are experienced enough to change the Desktop Environement (DE, XFCE here), then why ask for help? On the other hand, if you really want to mess with the DE packages, read the manuals, then do the installation "by the book", this meaning, installing every dependence required by the apt-install / dpkg. I have 25 years of practice in computers, but the last thing I would like to do, is mess up with the DEs. It is a painful job to tweak all the details and the most painful thing is that Plasma (KDE generally), require "top-notch" video drivers. Since this is an endless story, I'll skip the details. Still... If you want to play with Plasma, install it from the command line. Here is what you need to do: [glow=yellow,2,300]https://vitux.com/how-to-install-the-kde-plasma-desktop-on-ubuntu-18-04-lts/[/glow] Good luck! Sent us some screenshots if you make it through! ![]() Re: Cannot Open Lite Software, Synaptics Package Manager, etc - johnausten13 - 06-25-2020 You can check the passwords associated with your apps. Copy-paste in Chrome ---- chrome://settings/passwords I hope this helps. Otherwise, make a clean install of LL5 and do not mix XFCE with other DE like Plasma because they have compatibility issues. |
