Opening whisker menu with Super_L - paul59 - 08-07-2014 I've been playing with a live cd version of Linux Lite before installing and it seems to work very nicely with my new laptop. The one issue I do have is that I can't get Super_L (the 'Windows key') to open the whisker menu. I can set it up ok but I get an error dialog: Failed to launch shortcut "Super_L" Failed to launch process "xfce4-popup-whiskermenu" (Permission denied) Might this just be because LL is not installed (or maybe I have the wrong command in there? TIA and well done on a nice clean distro! ![]() Paul Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - Valtam - 08-07-2014 Works here on installed LL. Probably doesn't work on live media. I'm using Super + M. ![]() Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - paul59 - 08-07-2014 OK thanks... I'll let you know if the problem disappears after install. Paul Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - Valtam - 08-07-2014 I just tried on Live media, it doesn't work. Should be fine once installed. Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - paul59 - 08-07-2014 Thank you... it is, I've just taken the plunge! ![]() EDIT: Might it be worth putting a 'readme' on the desktop so live version users can be made aware of things that only work when installed (such as this)? Just a thought. Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - Scott(0) - 08-07-2014 Hi Paul59, I wonder if removing/re-creating the Super+L shortcut would help? Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - paul59 - 08-07-2014 Thanks Scott(0)... it might have done but I've installed to HD now and it works just fine. ![]() Re: Opening whisker menu with Super_L - Electro - 09-07-2015 My installation still has this problem. Any way to fix this? I tried Scott's idea of removing/readding, but even that didn't work. (Also install RELEASE is still on the menu) EDIT: It seems like the user that was created when the system got installed can open the menu with the power button. Others just give this error message (and the same boxes are checked under users). |
