New LL user, actually new to Linux :-) - ridenotwalk - 02-24-2020 New LL user just starting my journey in the Linux world. I've been using computers since the Apple 2E and BBC at school, even had a MicroBee at home when I was a kid. Thing is I've never really looked into how computers work or how they do what they do, more been a user of software and that's about it. I was more interested in mechanical things (bikes, cars, and trucks mostly) and making them go fast. Fast forward to recently and I've fallen into a job at work that in some parts means I deal with computers on a deeper level using Win and Linux mostly so I've taken the step of starting to learn how things work and how to make them work. I'm certaly a noob of noobs in this regard but I'm learning everyday. Up until about 4 months ago I didn't really know what Linux was, now I have 2 distros working, one LL 3.X on a 15yo Toshiba laptop (512Mb, 40Gb, 32bit) and another dual booting Win10/LM19.3 on a recent HP all in one desktop. Thanks for letting me in and maybe one day I'll be able to give something back (might be along while tho ;-) ) Re: New LL user, actually new to Linux :-) - bonnevie - 02-24-2020 Welcome to Linux Lite! Your intro is really nice. My first work computer was an Amiga in 1987. I didn't get interested in operating systems until 2015, when I moved from Vista to LL2.2. But I'm kinda old now and I really like to read about stuff that people like you bring to the Linux Lite community.
