Can I upgrade from LL3 to LL4 without destroying Linux-only dual-boot integrity - m654321 - 01-13-2018 From the following link, which refers to setup1 in signature, you will see the partitioning details of the LL3.6 / PCLinuxOS dual-boot system on a single SSD as follows - you will see that LL has the boot flag: https://imgur.com/a/FddMV I assume that when LL4.0 is eventually installed, replacing LL3.8, the boot flag will be destroyed with the clean-install and PCLinuxOS wont appear on the grubscreen and will therefore be inaccessible from dev/sda5, at least initially. My question is: Is there any way to recover the installed PCLinuxOS on sda5, so that the dual-boot is fully functional again, after installation of LL4.0 ? How do I get PCLinuxOS back onto the grubscreen? Obviously I want to avoid having to reinstall PCLinuxOS ... Many thanks in advance for your help & comments. Much appreciated as always. Mike |
