Hi All, as you can tell from the name I'm escaping from my old and trusted XP OS as Microsoft are going to let the old 'lady' get ravaged by the hoards of ravaging hackers at the end of March. I'm sorry to say I have absolutely no idea of Linux systems so I may be begging for help for a while as I get up and running - hope you will put up with me.

EVERYONE here was new to Linux at one time or another.
You couldn't have made a better choice about where to 'get your feet wet'. May you be the first of many to 'take the plunge' from XP.
At least now, you can try out and use all sorts of new software without going broke in the process. I just wish LL was around when *I* first started dabbling with Linux! If so, I'd know a lot more about it than I do...
