Why lxterminal instead of xfce4terminal? - trinidad - 09-23-2017

I'm sure there are important reasons why lxterminal is bundled as default into the distro. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated because xfce4terminal is very customizable. I use it and enjoy it but I'm sure the there are some caveats.

I'm curious too

I try to make savings in ram wherever possible. There's also no point and click setting for cursor blink, which is extremely odd to have this basic setting left out of Preferences.

I believe I got a blinking cursor by customizing (Nixing) the prompt itself. It's been a while since I've done that. I'll have to find my notes on it. I think I made the prompt colors and blinking cursor default for any terminal that way. It was something I was doing and tested it on ROX, LX, X, UX, and XFCE4 terminals, in Deb, Solydx, and LL at the time.

The xfce4 terminal uses an rc file for configuration in Linux Lite located at: ~/user/.config/xfce4/terminal/terminalrc
You set cursor color/shape/blink among other options there, custom title etc.

I know that. Many things in Linux can of course be changed by resorting to the command line or by editing files. I was trying to emphasize that point and click options for our target audience are at the forefront of most of our decisions.
