Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - Valtam - 02-06-2017 Source - http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/02/skype-for-linux-end-of-life-march Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - rokytnji - 02-07-2017 Screw em. I use Jitsi. My android phone says screw em also. Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - rokytnji - 02-08-2017 Recommended to me by another Linux user. https://appear.in/ Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - LL-user - 02-08-2017 You can even stick with Jitsi. The WebRTC solution you can use without any account is here: https://meet.jit.si/ There are many other WebRTC websites available. Another quite reliable one is Talky: https://talky.io/ Benefit with Jitsi and Appear is that they offer an Android app which makes it dead easy to connect even via phone. Other interesting projects in my books: * Wire - now supports also Linux, even if it seems to be via electron, i.e. being a web wrapper - It really looks good. I also like that you have the choice to sign up with email OR phone number https://wire.com/ * Ring - I have been watching for quite some time and they made quite some progress - not as mature as Wire - but more Linux supportive/ even centric. It's meanwhile a GNU project. - great philosophy behind it - can integrate an existing SIP account https://ring.cx/ Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - Learning - 02-20-2017 (02-06-2017, 10:45 PM)Jerry link Wrote: Source - http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/02/skype-for-linux-end-of-life-marchJust like them to either buy or attempt to kill the competition Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - bitsnpcs - 02-21-2017 Recent reply from them about the email error. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/02/skype-for-linux-keep-working-email-error I wonder if it may be no error, but they have realized the number of Linux users, and made a turn around. Thoughts on this ? Re: Will Skype’s Linux App Stop Working on March 1? - Valtam - 02-21-2017 I'm keeping an eye on this developing situation, and will react with the best interests of the community in mind.
