Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them? - m654321 - 09-12-2015 I had created 4 additional desktops, using the Workspaces application under Menu. Instead of reducing the number of desktops from 4 to 3, using the Workspaces application, I right-clicked, accidentally, on one of them in the panel, and all 4 desktop launchers then disappeared from the panel. How do I get them back? In Workspaces, it still indicates that I have 4 desktops. Thanks for any help on this one Regards Mike Re: Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them? - avj - 09-12-2015 You should be able to add the workspace switcher back to the panel by right clicking on the panel and going into "Add New Item" this sounds very similar to a problem I had on an earlier version of LL. When I right clicked on something it would automatically select whatever was under the pointer. This was solved for me by resetting the mouse settings to default. This is the link to the problem I had. https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/other-17/(solved)-mouse-right-click-auto-selects-whatever-is-in-on-submenu-below-pointer/msg11622/#msg11622 Re: Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them? - m654321 - 09-12-2015 avj said... Cheers Mike Re: Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them? - N4RPS - 11-11-2015 Hello! There are some things on the panel that, if accidentally removed, can lead to catastrophic consequences - the system tray, as an example. It might be a good idea to back up your panel configuration file - which, unless I'm mistaken, is as follows: Code: /home/{USERNAME}/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml That way, you can restore it if something happens... 73 DE N4RPS Rob Re: Accidental Deletion of Workspaces - how do I restore them? - Wirezfree - 11-11-2015 Take a look at APTIK This backs up all settings/configs inc the xfce4-panel.xml ![]() Some examples & usage info here I also opened up the backup file to confirm. ![]() |
