Upgrade to 2.6 - one item fails - raj - 09-01-2015 This is almost certainly a result of the mistaken attempt to install then uninstall Enlightenment earlier https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-linux-lite/lost-network-icon-in-taskbar. I have lost the LL login screen and now have an XFCE (I think) login showing my desktop wallpaper and the square box for username & passwd. Using the lite tweaks to restore the boot splash doesn't work (but no error). And the upgrade to 2.6 displayed the following error: "There was an error while seting [sic] lite-welcome to autostart on first boot ". Otherwise I think the upgrade process succeeded, and CC shows OS as LL versionĀ 2.6. Re: Upgrade to 2.6 - one item fails - N4RPS - 10-16-2015 Hello! One word. Reinstall. LL does NOT 'play nice' with any other desktop environments. No harsh words intended, but Ubuntu proper (preferably in a VM) is probably the best way to get a 'feel' for some of the other DEs out there... 73 DE N4RPS Rob |
