Keyboard non-responsive - No keyboard layout for LG LW20-22DA notebook - tedkelso - 08-23-2015

I tried LinuxLite 2.4 LIveCD and 2.6 beta LiveCD on my old LG LW20-22DA notebook. The notebook has an Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz cpu, 1GB DDR2 ram and has Intel 915GM/ICH6-M chipset according to the service manual (tim.id.au/laptops/lg/lw20.pdf). The keyboard is non-responsive. When terminal or text editor is open, pressing any key doesn't type anything at all. I checked LinuxLite keyboard layouts but there's no suitable layout for my notebook which has 84 keys. The mousepad works fine and functional (can click at icons). I tried a lot of other popular distros. None of them have this problem. Windows XP and 7 also doesn't have this problem. Someone please help as I really want to make LinuxLite the Linux distro on my notebook after trying out many other distros.

Sorry nobody answering.

My guess you are missing a library - I have no clue.  I would try asking the LQ geeks

Be warned - these people are real geeks.  Ask intelligently or you get flamed.

MIght I suggest that you try a full install.  I had problems initially with LL Live on my fujitsu siemens Amilo lap tops. . When I did a full install, I then went through the  generic options menu/settings/keyboard  AND menu/settings/keyboardinputmethods  one by one, rebooting after each change until I found the right combination.  I realise that this could/will be time consuming but should eventually be rewarding.  When you find the right combination, could you please post it on the forum for others' use later on.

Also check language support is OK

If you go to Menu > All and select Language Support
