Scotiabank may take your security very seriously etc etc soundbites 4, 12 and 32 - so why do they then ask you to click on a bit.ly link that you cannot check or validate as being anything other than a malware launch pad. :o :o :o :o :o

Yeah when I dug up that conversation from 2015 I tried the link and wondered what the heck? I can't remember if I looked at the link when I got the answer or not.
Maybe at the time it was helpful. :-) The banks look out for their own interests, not their customers.
My Presidents Choice Mastercard statement says that I am liable for anything where my chip and pin is used. Period. I contacted them and got the run around, they insist that the chip/pin system is fraud proof.
I didn't feel like changing cards and they are all the same so I got my daily limit for cash advance lowered to 1 dollar. I have both my Scotia card and PC Mastercard set to send me a text and email for every transaction.
At least they put it in writing that they don't specify what operating system we use. I'm sure many of the people in the fraud department are fully aware of the benefits of using Linux.
We are all on our own.

Well, in their defence, at least you can install Thrusteer on Mac.
Same thing cannot be said of a lot of major Accounting programs which are windows only.

Also, the response does not seem too 'generic" and is quite 'complete', which again, cannot be said from other bank companies. Wink
