Title: Printing to Canon MG5300 printer
Post by: ralphshinevar on November 03, 2020, 11:52:12 AM
I am all for Linux Lite to come in and replace Windows 7, 10.  I realize Canon is doing nothing to provide Linux drivers.  If someone in the Linux Lite community could develop a printer driver(s) for Canon printers, then I (we) could go completely Linux Lite and dump Windows.  But I have to keep a Windows box around just to be able to print to the Canon.  I am not a developer (just a lowly Sys Admin), so I am unable to fix it myself.  It would be cool if Linux Lite could print to Canon printers right out of the box (.iso?)  8)

I can't agree with this but I can help you. Canon drivers are well provided for, including your model. I found them with the following Google string 'canon mg5300 linux'.

Extract each file to it's own folder. Go into each folder where you see the install.sh file and do - https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-0594-zz-DR-enUS/contents/dlu-inst-installer.html
