Thank you for your reply.  Since I wrote this, the problem worked itself out - I'm not sure how, but it did.  Initially nothing printed on the second side, then some sections printed but not others, and now the second page prints fine. (????)

Generally speaking, getting my Canon Image Class printer to work with linux has been a convoluted procedure, but it is working now.  To help others, I'll document what I did as a separate topic on this forum.

Have you looked in the help manual - menu/favourites/help maual/printers - There is a section on procedures for canon printers.  You may have already done this??

Also with the printer plugged into the usb and switched on , maybe menu/all/install drivers might pick something up?

I just finished installing my Canon image class MF 4570dw printer but am unable to get the two-sided printing feature to work.  I go to Printer Properties -> Job Options -> Common Options -> Sides.  From there I have the option of one-sided, two-sided long-edge, and two-sided short-edge.  After I click either of the available two-sided options and choose "Apply", it immediately flips back to one-sided printing.  Any idea on how to get the two-sided option to stick?

I'm brand new to Linux and am so glad to have come upon Linux Lite.  This is REALLY nice!
