for anyone who is interested i found the problem it was the FIREWALL disable that and it works odd that it doesn't affect the printer just the scanner

ok I'll try and keep this simple I have the latest version of lite running and have managed to get the drivers for the xp 212 for both scanner and printer portions of this device.

printer works perfectly over wifi but the scanner will only work if its run via a usb cable when unplugged it cannot locate the device over wifi so i'm a bit stumped anyone got any ideas how i can get the scanner to work over wifi ????
