Your Brother Printer : I looked through all of the  Printer Drivers for Brother Printers :
     For Linux  HL-##### [Only]
Since it is a new Printer Being a HL-L Brother printer series.
You may find the correct Printer Driver  at this URL :
           http://solutions.brother.com/linux/en_us/

Warde Hayden:
Thank you, I had tried that one before

DeepThought:
Does this page help:

--- Code: ---https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=hll2390dw_us&os=128
--- End code ---

There are separate drivers for printing and scanning :)

Warde Hayden:
I am using LL 4.2, just got a Brother HL-L2390DW All in One Printer Scanner, was unable to load disc that came with printer.
I am able to print documents but unable to scan, get message to hook up scanner or scanner not found. Simple Scan icon appears on desktop. I am dual booting with Windows10 and can perform all functions. Have been working with Brother Support but they have no solutions as yet.
My command entry is not that swift so any instructions have to be specific and step by step.
Thank you, in advance for any help.
