Title: [SOLVED] HP Photo smart 5520 Printer scanner
Post by: Jim The Tyreman on May 20, 2014, 05:14:28 PM
Looking for a spot of help please.

Converted my old business xp esprimo to LL 1.0.8, connected printer via USB, perfect printing! Can even print from my eos laptop and bohdi netbook over WiFi.
BUT

Can not scan?

LL scanner app just doesn't accept the fact that there is a scanner attached?

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Hello!

Try downloading the latest version of HPLIP from the following URL:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html (http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html)

HPLIP *SHOULD* provide full support for your multi-function printer, and is the recommended utility for using HP printers in Linux. If you're using LL 2.0 beta, select "Ubuntu 14.04" as your OS. If you're using LL 1.0.6 or 1.0.8, select "Ubuntu 12.04"...

Hello!

You're welcome. Nobody makes using a printer easier to use in Linux than HP does...
