I had a very similar problem removing LibreOffice 5 (to get 6), and this tip helped a lot. Thanks UltraCookie! :)

Hi,

Go to /home/<user>/.local/share/applications/
There are a lot of .desktop files that are either named after the program they create the launcher for or have a generic name. Either locate the "PlayOnLinux.desktop" file or do right click > properties > launcher and look for the on that launches PlayOnLinux. Then delete that file.

Hey,
Something happened while I was uninstalling Wine and PlayOnLinux through Lite Software. The PlayOnLinux menu shortcut is still there when it is uninstalled. Sort of a nuisance. Tried updating and cleaning (sudo apt-get clean). Any help, please?
