For linux program, yes - general knowledge.  I haven't use window for over an decade, so can't answer that part.  You try it.  Click "x" and look at the processes.
In linux, you click "x' and you still see the program running on your panel.  You also can open up a terminal and type "ps -ef" and see the program still running.
This is true w/ some non-audio programs also.  Keep an eye on your panel after you click 'x'.

For many media programs, it is not enough to click "x" on the upper right corner.  You must quit, i.e., file -> quit or ctrl+Q.

Is this general knowledge? I been pressing the X on each window every time like on a Windows machine.
I just reinstall now to get it all back how I like before OS all then slow.

Thanks all

Read how to make LL secure.
See what else Linux Lite can do.
I think X kill is cool :)

First of all, anything run by root, leave alone.  Just look at what is running by "username".   At first glance I did not see anything extra running.  Open up a terminal and execute

top

Look at the %cpu and %mem columns.  Are there stuffs running?  If everything is under 10%, then probably not.  Leave top alone and run  vimeo.  Then look at top.  Is %cpu and/or %mem loaded?
If not, then something else is messing things up (and I probably can't help you).  If so, then something fishy is going on with vimeo.

Read how to make LL secure.
See what else Linux Lite can do.
I think X kill is cool :)

I suspect you have processes running that you do not use.   For many media programs, it is not enough to click "x" on the upper right corner.  You must quit, i.e., file -> quit or ctrl+Q.   Look at the bottom where your panel is.
Do you see stuffs running?  If so, right-click -> quit.

If you don't see stuffs running, open up a terminal and type

ps -ef

and see what is running.  Use pkill or kill to kill dead processes.  Use the manpage to learn about these commands, i.e.,

man pkill
man kill
