Title: updating non-repo software?
Post by: Searchernow on December 22, 2018, 05:30:47 PM
I have installed Brave and XMind directly from their sites. Am I right to assume updates for these will not be included in "Install Updates"?

Depends on the implementation by the developer. Look in /etc/apt for any references. Most should.

I use Brave Browser and I believe it does update along with the other packages.

Thanks for the replies, here's my belated response!

Yes, I see LL Updates does update Brave.

I'm not sure about XMind, but I'm not worried - at present the free "trial" version seems to go on forever, so who knows, an update might end that! And where would I be without Xmind?  ???
