I'm having wifi problem - disconnecting and reconnecting - and sometime stuffs change.  My trick is to click the internet icon (disconnect wire or 4 bars) -> uncheck enable wifi.
Then click again same icon and check enable wifi.   10 seconds max.

  • CPU: Intel Atom N570

  • MEMORY: 2Gb

  • VIDEO CARD: Intel GMA3150
So it means there's no command which resets network adapter..?

I now installed WICD Network-Manager. Problem Solved :)! Seems the default gnome networkmanager was no good.

I know it's also not resolving it and messing a bit with the whole system setup. But if even a restart doesn't cut it at times I would give wicd network manager a go to replace NetworkManager.
I have not tested a replacement in Linux Lite. So hopefully someone else on here can advise.

However, sometimes not even a restart will help. I need to delete the network connection completely and insert the password again. :'(

Thx, it is at least a temporary solution. Hope there might be a fix for this problem!

Hi onemansubmarine,

I have connection issues (WiFi as well as ethernet) after getting back from suspend mode. But interestingly not always.
I brought it up here on the forum already but have not found the fix yet. Also didn't take the time to do a proper trouble shooting as I can live with the workaround at the moment:

Code: [Select]
sudo killall NetworkManager
The NetworkManager restarts itself and then connects without problems.
Not ideal, as it also has put my plans on hold to install LL for other people.

Hope it helps you preventing a reboot at least.

Dear Linux Lite Community,

I am relatively new to Linux Lite. But I noticed a rather unconvenient issue with the Network Manager. If I am connected to the WiFi and I close my laptop lid and then reopen it to resume my work, it is not able to reconnect to the WiFi again. The only solution is to restart my laptop  :'(.  This is rather time consuming to restart everytime. Does anybody has the same Problem?

Hier is the result of :

sudo lshw -C network

  *-network

I tried several fixes on the internet, but none of them worked.

here a one of the approaches I tried:

-) sudo gedit /etc/pm/config.d/config
add SUSPEND_MODULES="ath9k"
