Title: Trying to Change default file Manager to Nautilus
Post by: leegold on April 18, 2014, 06:08:31 PM
Hi,

LL 1.06. I installed Nautilus file manager. I then go into settings>preferred applications>Utilities and change from Thunar to Nautilus. But it seems like Thunar is still used by default. I'll open up a mounted USB drive and it's thunar, everything seems to user thunar still. Tried rebooting but still's the same. Wondered if anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Hello!

Since LL is based on XFCE, unless you uninstall Thunar, Thunar will always assert itself.

I don't know what effect using Nautilus may HAVE on LL as opposed to Thunar; Valtam would probably be the expert on THAT. However, on SOME of my installs, since I prefer PCManFM, I HAVE replaced Thunar with PCManFM, with - so far - no ill effects...

No problem, I only use Nautilus for a few certain things. Thanks.
