Hi!
I have a HP 1018 and under Mint 18.0 I had some trouble at the beginning, so I had to dig a little...
Here is what came out:
Install the following packages:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt install hplip hplip-data hplip-gui -y
After successfull installation, you are good to go.
Start the printer. Since it is a multifunctional, you should check also the scanning App (XSane is the name, but I never used it.)
Might be necessary to install XSane first, so let's change the command:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt install hplip hplip-data hplip-gui xsane -y
Now, if you start the printer, a window should pop-up and ask you to install the proprietary driver.
Here is the Ubuntu procedure:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1134218/laserjet-m1132-plugin-ubuntu
Unfortunately, you have to check manually if there is a driver in the database for the specific printer AND Ubuntu 20.04.
As it seems, there is still missing the update. For some reason, if the driver install fails, it is the only reason it does fail.
In my case, after some time, the driver update appeared, and in the Mint 18.1 version, all went OK.
Maybe this is something similar.
Ubuntu 20.04 is still new and since the printers database is huge, updating all the database, might take longer than expected by us...

Good luck! :)
All the best!

Good day to you all. Sorry for my English, i`m from Ukraine. I have a problem with my printer HP LaserJet m1132MFP on Linux Lite 5.0. I simply can not make him work. I tried to install HPLIP via terminal and by downloading deb package from official HP web-site but nothing worked so far. Can anyone tell me how to fix it. On LL4.0 everything worked good.
