Yes linux is one to use for ax25 ip/tcp packet radio .But here some of them just use a digital-like psk31 modes and not packet.
No problem i will get there some how.
Again thanks

There are some other members who use ham-radio I remember it being mentioned before as I looked for what it was on search engine.
Maybe if you wished to, you could start a ham-radio thread in the off topic section and other operators they will notice it from the title and join in the discussion.

Well as i say i did not see all that info before. So after try to solve the problem i made it worse ,so i format the hard drive and re-install the ll 3.4 again.
So now try to  start all over again to  install all the ham radio software, and make it work again.
It is a IP/TCP and ax25 programs.
They are  similar to Internet mail and connections  with Internet and radio at the same time. Via terminal node connection.
But only be used by ham-radio operators .
Yes i bookmark this info  just in case if something goes wrong again.
Thanks

Hello arxontas,

has it solved the problem for you ?

You are Welcome  :) , I had a lot of help from the community members, and it was good I was able to pass their help along to another community member like you. :)

I found it again easily as I had bookmarked it using the forum tools.
At the bottom of every thread is a button "Add Bookmark", if you click that, at a later time if you had the same problem you can then click "Bookmarks" tab at the top of any page on the forum, and easily find any threads you have bookmarked.

I don't use ham-radio, I am using LL 3.2 and kernel 4.9, it works for me, there are more newer than 4.9.

Well i have tried everything .NO luck.
So i have re-install 3.4 two times.
3.4 has kernel 4.4.0-70
update  after install and got 4.4.0.85

After i play some, with some programs,i re-install to day again the 3.4  with 4.4.0.70 kernel BUT when i update  i got no 4.4.0.85  got 4.4.0.86
Really i do not know what is the best of those 3 kernels to use .
I like to know before i install the ham-radio ax25 and Jnos. Any ham-radio op here know anything abt?

Thanks

If your grub menu opens with the left shift key look under advanced options for an older kernel entry something older than 4.40-85 Generic. Do not use recovery mode otherwise kexec will continue to load the saved dump kernel (which in this case is probably a thin version 4.40-85) Boot from the line that reads something like Linux Lite... 4.40- (with the lowest number below 85) Generic. Hopefully you have a few older kernels listed there. If not there is little I can help you with, as you've probably followed the Ubuntu caution not to root password your system. In the future you should not remove old kernels before thoroughly testing the newly installed ones. If you get your system back up on an older kernel make sure you have not added any ppas that are not from Linux Lite, and then go through the update process again.

You crashed a kernel. What kind of updates?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Terminal_Server_Project

hold down the left shift key while booting to get a grub menu. select advanced options and boot an older kernel.
