Unusual thread, there seems to have been native builds for linux of this for some time, example - https://ts.vcu.edu/askit/research-math-science/spss/linux-spss-26-install-instructions/ No need for an emulator?

Hi guys, I am a new-ish linux user running linux-lite. I just installed wine and PlayOnLinux to install a windows app (SPSS) and the process seemed to have been concluded succesfully

However, I cant find the application. I tried re-installing it but the 'virtual drive' used by PlayOnLinux can be seen and I can attempt to repair the installed application through running the setup again, but I cant use it.

I'm sure I am missing something. Any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks.

SPSS is a venerable statistical analysis package. Fortunately there is a Linux drop in replacement called PSPP http://www.gnu.org/software/pspp/
It is in the standard Ubuntu repositories so can be installed from synaptic.

Might pay to give us a link for what this Spss is for us to research.

@baiselmareo6 ,

I don't know much about that software or if it did actually install properly for you.  However, according to this site, https://alternativeto.net/software/spss/, it is installable on Linux.  You may want to connect with the vendor for their official instructions on how to install it.  Or, you might consider some of the alternatives listed at that link.  The PSPP listing seems like a good option, and it's something that you can safely install using the Install/Remove Software utility included in Linux Lite.

P.S.  I also came across this:  https://umservices.umaine.edu/software/spss/linux_instructions.pdf
