No it's not in Lite Tweaks. When I click on a Web link in, say, QuiteRSS, and I had SJ set to be Default Browser from within the SJ interface, I would get a system dialog that would query me to set a system default browser. Once I did that any program would automatically use SJ as the default. My problem was that when subsequently opening SJ, it would ask me to set it as the default, and I would. Now I've turned that message off and am letting the system alone set the default.

I can't find the word Slimjet in any of our code in Lite Tweaks. Could you screenshot this please?

I was assuming browsers register themselves as browser class, as they do in the Windows registry. I guess that's the case, since the LL system "choose default browser" dialog does pick SJ up, but that Lite Tweaks works in a different, more selective way. Anyway, I'll watch this for a while and see how it works.

Lite Tweaks does not support Slimjet because it is barely even on the radar when it comes to browser market share. Our time is better spent supporting products that are widely in use.

It occurred to me that one way to deal with this is simply not to allow Slimjet to set itself as the default, and to set it as the default through the dialog that pops up when another program tries to access the Web (the system sees Slimjet there, even if Lite Tweaks does not list it as an option). So far that appears to be working. I set it that way once, and haven't had to again.

The thread here seems to sum up my problem, but since it's marked Solved I thought I'd better start a new thread.

I use Slimjet as my default browser. It is a chromium derivative installed via a 64 bit .deb package. It runs great, but I have had this problem since Day One.

I make Slimjet the default browser from within its interface. But when I try to access a web page from another program, I have to specify the default browser, as it says none is set. I set it to Flashpeak Slimjet, and it then works fine. But the next time I open Slimjet it asks me whether I want to make it the default browser, which it already should be. It seems that Slimjet is fighting the system for default browser rights.

I went to Lite Tweaks to set SJ as default browser at the system level, but now the only choices it offers are firefox, chrome and chromium. I would swear that Flashpeak Slimjet was listed there under LL 2.6, but it's not there now. What's more, Chrome is not on the system.

I tried to see if this is a chromium or LL problem by making Firefox the default browser, but doing so didn't stop Slimjet from being the target browser for system calls. Maybe I needed to reboot?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
