Title: Making Onboard virtual keyboard available at LOGIN screen
Post by: JanetBiggar on March 18, 2019, 01:35:46 AM
Having found Onboard Virtual Keyboard to use with two laptops with minor key issues I wondered if someone might have some relatively straightforward steps whereby this virtual keyboard would be available at the login screen?

Currently one of the laptops being used by a grade 12 student has a fully NON-functioning keyboard thus uses an external keyboard all the time which makes it cumbersome when he wishes to take it elsewhere.

I did see a thread on an ubuntu site that spoke about gtk-greeter and being able to set a login screen that works with either Onboard or Florence virtual keyboards, however I struggled to do the steps and didn’t want to create issues. Might anyone be able to provide me with an outline of what I need to do in order to have the Onboard keyboard be accessible at login?

Menu, search for 'lightdm' click on Light DM Greeter Settings. Follow as per the screenshot:

Thank you so much Jerry.  It works like a charm!

Now I will add one of the Linux Lite OS stickers you mailed to me and place the laptop with the youth  :D
