@sallam ,

I'm sure it is, but personally I try to avoid KDE specific apps on Linux Lite.  I really try to avoid going outside of the Lite Software options.  And I only use PPAs now as a last resort.

Thanks TD
I've compared a few, and settled on Kate. A very good editor.

Outside of the text editor included with Linux Lite, I use Geany (which is in Lite Software) and Gedit.

Do you recommend any better text editor alternative that can handle large files and can open multiple files in tabs?

@sallam
Have you looked at Geany -- as I mentioned in you other post?

I myself haven't tried Notepadqq...

Yes I did, but I cannot edit Arabic text. Its as if the text line is an image, not treated as separate characters. That's weird!

Greetings everyone

I have 3 questions and hope someone could help me please..

1- I've recently installed Notepadqq text editor, because it allows me to open multiple files in multiple tabs at startup, Bu each time it asks:
Quote
The file "file_name.txt" you are trying to open is 3.59 MiB in size. Do you want to continue?
and I have to click Yes each time.
Is there somehow a way to avoid this message?

2- Its supposed to be similar to Notepad++ for Windows, but qq doesn't seem to have the option of selecting lines by clicking at their numbers in the side bar.

3- When I select word wrap, the first and last words in the lines sometimes has a character or 2 hiding behind the sidebar or the right margin. Is that a bug?

Do you recommend any better text editor alternative that can handle large files and can open multiple files in tabs?
