Struth! That was easy DeepThought.
I had poked about for myself, but not found that option.
I had searched online too, but nothing that I tried made any difference.
So far in this session since your recommended change and a reboot, I have been completely free of any irritating auto-mounting.
You are a champion, many thanks.

Hi @BDH   Hopefully the following method will work for you, otherwise you will need to edit the fstab file but for now try the following:

Using the disks utility.(Menu/Settings/Disks)

Identify the partition you want to stop automount and highlight, then click on the cog underneath the Volumes image on the right.

Highlight and click on Edit Mount Options

Toggle the switch at the top to prevent Automounting.

Hopefully after a logout/reboot your problem will be solved. If not let us know and I'll try to describe the fstab method :)

I have a battery operated pocket modem model ZTE MF910.
It is branded Telstra (an Australian telco, also Aussie for “expensive telco”).
It has a partition containing some read-only Telstra files.
I am not using Telstra with this device, so I definitely do not need the files, but they refuse to be deleted.
Using Linux Lite 3.8 the partition constantly auto-mounts with this address:   /media/linuxlite/Telstra Wi-Fi/
Sometimes not for ten minutes, but frequently every few seconds (23 times while typing this message!).
There appears to be no pattern, although it does seem to happen more often when I start shouting abuse at the computer!
How do I stop this?  Please?
New-ish to Linux, so step-by-step instructions would be appreciated.

Many thanks
BDH
