I'm not multi-booting or having any other OS on this computer. That's why it's surprising that it shows up. FWIW, I had that also happen occasionally when I was using Lubuntu. It's certainly NOT a problem, and I understand how it can be needed if a recent kernal upgrade causes problems, but that hasn't happened to me ever. Maybe it's just a neighborhood computer gremlin playing a joke on me.  ;)

    • Linux Lite OS

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz

  • MEMORY: 32Gb

  • VIDEO CARD: nVidia GeForce GTX 1650

  • Kernel: 5.x
It will only pop up if  - you are multi-booting or you chose a previous kernel to boot from. To stop it popping up, next boot hold Shift, and make sure the default Menu and top entry is selected eg. (picture is example only, not exact version)

Linux Lite 5 is the only OS on my computer, but occasionally the GRUB screen shows during boot-up. I know how to make it show if I want it to - press SHIFT during booting - but I don't know of any reason that it is showing up now. Can I stop it from popping up? If so, how? Or is that a good idea?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Update: My post originally asked about getting Launcher apps to show up as I wanted. I have solved that on my own, although I recall doing that in a simpler way earlier. But I got 'er done, so that is no longer an issue for me.
