Found what I was looking for.

Went to the hidden folders under home/me/.config/Thunar/ and made a backup of uca.xml and saved it with a different name under my Documents folder.  Then:

Open Thunar > Edit > Configure custom actions...under Custom Actions scroll down to Create Backup Copy and selected trashcan icon to delete it.  This removed the backup section from uca.xml file.  If I want this action back, I have the original file saved in case I want to restore this feature.

Hi all,

I'd like to be able to disable the auto-creation of .bak files.  I understand to have .bak files automatically created is a good thing, but I don't want this feature, especially when I am renaming a video file and have to wait for Thunar to backup the large file size before I end up deleting it in my home folder.
