I have the same problem but after reboot:
- losing the position icons in the previous session, and they are automatically aligned to the left. The session is saved in  . Config but does not load at the beginning of the new session. Solution? Thank you.

that did it, i made launcher in panel and restoring now icon positions with single click
 ;D

Is there any way to remember position of icons on desktop, because they get scrambled every time i run some fullscreen game.
