Title: Compiz not working in Linuz Lite 2.0
Post by: Plumberbob on October 19, 2014, 03:46:34 PM
First time poster in any forum.
I have recently installed Linux Lite 2.0 64 bit on my computer (Update from previous version 1.08.)
I have done all the updates after install.
I went to Synaptic Package Manager to install compiz and discovered it was already installed.
I closed  Synaptic Package Manager and went to the Whisker Menu to start compiz but could not locate it.
I typed in compiz in the search bar and came up with nothing.
I went to  Synaptic Package Manager and installed the compiz fusion icon, went to whisker menu, clicked on  compiz fusion. It is on the panel but still will not open.
I had no problem with compiz in Linux Lite 1.08. How do you get it to work in Linux Lite 2.0?

Thank you for your reply Valtam. Sorry I haven't respond before now but I had some pushing matters I had to attend to.
Before I tried whats on the video I tried starting Compiz that was already installed on Linux Lite 2.0 by 'sudo compiz --replace' in the terminal. It crashed the computer.
I reinstalled everything back on computer the way it was. Went to Synaptic Package Manager and un-installed compiz and all its dependencies.
I then went by the video and reinstalled compiz and so far so good.
I haven't tried out everything yet. I'll try it for a while and let you know.
I also installed the compiz fusion icon so I could choose a windows manager easier but it doesn't seem to work. In the older version of Linux Lite you could open it and choose between  compiz and xfce4 but in Linux Lite 2.0 you can't.
