Anybody having this problem besides me? I am streaming the news and the audio and video are out of sync. I've tried Firefox and Chrome..same problem. I've run into this in the past and seems flash player eventually updates and everything clears up. Could this be my problem now? Anybody having similar difficulty?
-
No problemo here on my 2002 or my newer gear regardless if it is Linux Lite or not.
I bet it is your ISP throttling your feed, maybe?
-
Thanks..I'll check with my ISP.

I am on Debian Wheezy and my version is
harry@bikertest3:~$ apt-cache policy flashplugin-nonfree
flashplugin-nonfree:
Installed: 1:3.2+wheezy1
Candidate: 1:3.2+wheezy1
Version table:
*** 1:3.2+wheezy1 0
500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy/contrib i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
I am not on my Linux Lite Laptop right now.
You have Flash player 11.2.202 installed.

I just checked my internet speed three times and it was 19 meg, 13 meg, 9 meg. Looks pretty good doesn't it?
-
Yeah. Go here and check your version against mine

bitsnpcs & I are playing tag on youtube music videos and I have no problems with sound or video sync.
Maybe a link to the site you are having problems with.
Because maybe the site you are accessing is the root cause of your problems?
Reading your post. Your flashplayer is way way way newer than mine. ;)
-
It's happening on several sites. I'll just give it a while and hopefully it will take care of itself. I have had this problem in the past and usually switch from Chrome to Firefox or vice versa and it takes care of it...thanks for your time.
-
Actually rokytnji, I have no sync problem on Youtube...only the several news streaming sites I use. Thanks again.
-
We'll need to see what kind of hardware you are running.
-
Here's my system info.

The hardware is a little on the weak side, I'm guessing this is a low spec netbook (good amount of ram though)?
-
Yes..no games or anything. Only thing I do with it that involves much is the streaming the news. And that has never been an enduring problem.
-
Thanks rokytnji and Jerry for your time and help. Hopefully this issue will clear up on it's own. I appreciate your help.
-
Problem solved. I installed Chromium and then installed the pepperflashplugin and my videos are smooth and in sync.
I think, at least in my case, there is an issue with the adobe flash player. But I was able to work around it. Firefox and Chrome are useless for streaming newscasts for now.
-
Hope that you ll fix newscast issues soon mate .
-
So do I friend. I prefer Chrome over Chromium. Glad to get things smoothed out, but miss my good ol' Chrome Browser. ;D

If you really want to use Chrome , I would try this :

The Google signing key and PPA are already included in LL. To install Chrome just use Menu -> System -> Install Additional Software and pick it from the list. Have a feeling that's what was already done before by Dana Marsee. Unfortunately, I don't have any good ideas on why audio/video sync problems occur.
-
Ah ok , didn t know it was on LL Add Softwares . Thanx g_f . Dana meant Chrome , on LL it s Chrome , not Chromium right !

Both choices are available from Install Additional Software.
-
Ah , thanx for clarifications , never really check it out , I usually use either ff or iceweasel .
-
I think I can put an end to this discussion. I have gone back to Chrome and discovered that I had the newstream screen zoomed to 175 and I have sync problems there...when I decreased my zoom to 33 the sync problems disappeared. I am back on Chrome now...feeling embarrassed. Maybe I am masking another problem by zooming down to 33, but I'm happy.
-
Disregard my last post..I still have a problem with sync on Chrome.
-
Look like an intermittent &/or persistant issue on your side . That sux .
I guess I would put on what podcasts that you want to listen too , maybe someone might give you a hand .
-
Still doing good with Chromium...just have to stay away from Chrome and Firefox. :)
-
Ah ok , cool , hope it will be ok now mate !

It could be a Pulse Audio issue. You can replace it with ALSA. Probably get some performance boost. But then you will not be able to call anyone with Skype. Skype needs Pulse Audio to make calls.
How To: Completely remove PulseAudio & replace it with ALSA (http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=60485)
I don't use Chrome very often. I use Firefox mostly. I have nVidia geforce gt 430 card and propriatary drivers enabled.
I get a little performance boost when I disable GPU validation and enable Hardware acceleration.
I've created 'mms.cfg' file in /home/user/.adobe/
If you want to try this:
echo OverrideGPUValidation=1 >> ~/.adobe/mms.cfg
echo EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1 >> ~/.abobe/mms.cfg
You can edit the file with text editor and change values from 1 to 0 (1 enables, 0 disables)
leafpad ~/.adobe/mms.cfg
OverrideGPUValidation=1
EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1
for example you can set the file content it like this:
OverrideGPUValidation=1
EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=0
Or like this
OverrideGPUValidation=0
EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode=1
Find the one that is best for you.
Once you make the changes save them, restart the browser and give it a try.
