Cool , I would remove it by getting into Synaptic ( which is in the Menu as Add/Remove Software ) in Linux Lite .

When you re into Synaptic , you ll see Search on middle top of window , then copy & paste xul into it , then you ll see lots of apps in there , then go to xul-ext-ubufox & remove it .

Also , what are the addons in ff , get into Addons & look what s on .

Something might slowdown your browser or make it crash .

tihts is a fresh install of linux lite and ff that came packaged with it...there are no other addons or extensions that come with ff  in this install other than the ubuntu extension....

only once have i been able to load ff in safe mode without crashing, i was able to refresh it during that load, and it loaded normally one time after that to disable to unbuntu extension...and it worked a few times...

but now i can't even get ff to load in safe mode...

so scott...do i type that line in terminal?

Good info, thanks. I have been curious what file relates to that Firefox extension.

Hi dudeMANguy,
I *think* the specific file Altman is speaking about is
Code: [Select]
xul-ext-ubufoxPlease post back if you need a little help with removal steps.

As an alternative (and the way I'm currently removing this extension) is to go into Firefox extensions and just disable it, though I don't know if this method *completely* disables it.

Lol , no problem mate .

Always wonder how do you guys put inserts like you re doing on xul-ext-ubufox .

Should be on Misko s ( sorry , gold_finger s ) new updated Manual .

Hello friends. After a delay, here's the apparent cause of FF/LL crashing...wait for it...the Ubuntu customization installed as an extension. No matter which version of FF and LL, if I don't start in FF Safe Mode to disable the Ubuntu Firefox Modifications extension, it's crash city. I just fixed my FF 34/LL2.2 this way.

Thought I would check back in guys...

I successfully instaled LL 2.0 and it is working super.
One thing I did was remove FF 29 and install Chromium from the get-go, even before updates install. Then after properly installing updates, drivers, restrictd extras etc, is when I installed FF 31. I took advice from the FF troubleshoot guide, deleted a preferences folder and started as RESET Firefox. It has been working fine with no crashes whatsoever.
There is a definite performance upgrade when using LL 2.0, I'm very pleased I must say.

I use Firefox 31 as well and I don't see any problems at all. BTW, I use only DwonThemAlll! add-on.

Maybe there is a conflict with your add-ons if you encounter any problem.

I use the FF31 now and with 'Memory Restart' it is 'holding' nicely.  :)
Memory more or less normal and quiet cpu.
