Webcam HD resolution appears with a lower resolution and with too much "squares"

Carlos Bernardino:
Ok thank you for your support.

It should be fixed, but I'm, not sure. The image that appeared on my Webcam, wasn't bad at all. Was good!

Later I will test during one streaming event!

Thanks! ;)

WytWun:
Like most devices, USB webcams are supported through a Linux kernel driver so it isn't a matter of whether Linux Lite supports a device but whether the Linux kernel supports a device.  Note that I don't think the list of devices on the driver page is necessarily complete or up-to-date (I don't think your device is in the list) however your device's name includes "UVC" implying it should follow the relevant standards; while most Chicony devices listed are said to work several have problems or limitations...

As you haven't been able to provide most of the information I suggested, I would suggest you proceed by googling the phrase "set up a webcam with linux".

In particular I found several interesting links this way, but the most useful might be How To Use Your Webcam On Linux which is quite recent (September 2022), though you might want to skip over the flippant introduction and begin at the Webcam troubleshooting 101 - let the CLI reign supreme section.

Carlos Bernardino:
According with the command lines that you gave me, the WebCam is the following:
Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam

The information about my laptop is:
Type: Laptop System: ASUSTeK product: X550CA

Thank you for your help!

If you may, say to me, if this webcam is listed on Linux Lite OS supported webcams. ;)

Regards!

Unfortunately you're unlikely to get any assistance with so little information about your problem - at the very least, you need to identify the specific webcam device, the software (including exact version number) involved and how the software is configured as regards the webcam.

Command line tools you should be familiar with in this journey of discovery include:
* inxi -F
* lsusb
As I presume your webcam is a USB device, you are particularly searching for the Vendor ID and Product ID - once you have these you will have a better chance of getting results by searching (with Google etc) for information about resolution problems on Linux with this device.  In most cases, a fix for one Linux distro can be fairly easily adapted to another Linux distro.

Be aware that it is sometimes unfortunately true that some devices are not, and may never be, properly supported on Linux because the device manufacturer has only released Windows drivers and not followed relevant standards and/or released sufficient information for anyone to add the required Linux support.

There's no solutions?

I must wait for Linux Lite OS 7.x to see news in this situation?

Thanks!

My Webcam HD resolution appears with a lower resolution and with too much "squares". In Windows, the Webcam worked fined because it had the official drivers, but in this OS Linux Lite, when I saw the resolution of the Webcam with a videocall from Facebook to me from my mother, i become scared!

Exist any fix to put the resolution in HD?

Thanks and Regards!
